On Friday 25th April 2008 27 people consisting of Beavers, Cubs, Parents and Leaders met on the promenade ready to depart for the Old School Lodge, North Wales for our first ever Beaver Family Holiday.

The holiday included visits to the National Slate Museum, Greenwood Forest Park and the Welsh Mountain Zoo. It also included the youngsters (and adults!) having some great fun in the common room playing Jenga, table-football and using the Nintendo Wii.

Everyone on the trip was exceptionally fed with full English breakfasts, packed-lunches, lasagne and a roast dinner... Who could have asked for more?

The trip was designed to give the Beavers a taste of what is to come in Cubs and later Scouts. Hopefully all the youngsters enjoyed their taste and now can't wait to join the Cub Pack and later Scout Troop to enjoy even more adventurous holidays and camps.

The Beavers have really soared with Nights Away this year with sleepovers aplenty and now this holiday... It's an excellent fact that some of our Beavers will move on to Cubs with their 5-nights-away badge! Well done!
