Late September the Cubs and Scouts ventured out to our County Scout Site for a short weekend camp from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. The camp was almost programme free however, included a short hike to Latham Chapel, rounders, raft building and a scavanger hunt!
The Cubs and Scouts entertained themselves by making dens, climbing trees and enjoying each other's company. During Saturday the Beavers and two leaders came out to visit us and stayed for lunch and dinner. They had a wonderful time playing out in the woods!
For a lot of the Cubs and Scouts it was their first camp, and first time away from home, they all did very well... we just hope the darkness, rustling of the trees and ghost stories didn't put them off too much!
In addition to this a lot of Cubs and Scouts didn't know each other and there were many new friendships formed which hopefully will develop even further in the months and years to come in Scouting.
Thankfully the weather was in our favour on Saturday and Sunday which just topped success of the camp off!
The only disappointment being it was over all too quickly... until next time.
Using this page you will find photographs of the weekend. If you have any personal memories or messages you would like published of the website from the weekend - please email them, as soon as possible, to info@3rdwallaseyscoutgroup.co.uk and we'll put them up!
